Youth Advisory Groups
There are 9 youth advisory groups in Cornwall and Devon that have members aged between 13 and 19. Each group works on different projects depending on what is needed in that area and what they have planned for the future; these can be anything like coming up with new ideas for Connexions centres, designing logos and posters and interviewing personal advisers. The groups have also designed the new Young People's Charter which outlines the rights that every young person using the service should have.

Every year all the groups get together to plan what needs to be done in the year ahead. This goes into The Young People's Plan. Most of the ideas in the Connexions business plan comes from these groups.

Sometimes there are things that are discussed in the groups that they feel are important for all the groups so these issues to a special group called the Young Persons Sub Group of the Board. This group meets four times a year and attend youth advisory group meetings to talk about these issues.

Twenty five young people from across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, recently took part in an activity on Bodmin Moor called the Moorland Experience, as a thank you for their hard work and valuable input into the Connexions service over the last year. Take a look at what happened.
