Local Resources
The Learning Paths resource has been developed as part of an ESF Objective One project run by the Learning Partnership for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. The resource was developed in response to education professionals requesting the need for materials to support with the delivery of local post-16 and post-18 options. There are three presentations within the programme on decision-making, post-16 options and progression at 17/18+, as well as sections on course information, various web links and case studies containing video clips which demonstrate different learning pathways.
The decision-making presentation covers four key areas i.e. skills, qualities and career aims; what is important to them; where are they now; and learning styles. The post-16 options and progression routes at 17/18+ are both divided into subsections i.e. progression routes, the qualifications framework, and help and support available in Cornwall.
The main use for the resource has been presentations to small and large groups of young people or parents both in schools and the wider community. Some practitioners have also used the resource on a one to one basis with young people.
